PUMA x Careaux

We know y’all ladies love you some Careaux. Caroll Lynn, who started illustrating back in 2013 after her dad had a car accident, is a self-confessed sneaker-head known for her feminine style.
We loved the collab we did with her last year so much that we decided to do again - and this time our collaboration infuses her unique dreamy designs across classic PUMA footwear styles and contemporary apparel designs.
Recognised globally for her trademark digitally rendered artworks, she has caught the eye of major players in the streetwear scene. Careaux not only designs, she also writes about products and sharing her travels which can be found on her Tumblr page.
This drop sees Careaux drawing inspiration from her travels through Asia, translating the classic Japanese cloud motif and its organic detailing to her signature romantic triangular illustrations.
The cloud pattern adorns a range of silhouettes that fuse sportswear and fashion, framed by bold Japanese and floral graphics. This season also sees a shift in colour story from pink pastels to blue hues.
A modern interpretation of the Japanese cloud artwork has been blown up and applied to key styles such as the PUMA x CAREAUX Bomber Jacket (R1 999). The collection is further comprised of cropped tees (R799), boyfriend-fit shorts (R1 199) and tops (R699).
The Japanese inspiration and colour palette continues to classic PUMA sneaker styles. The court favourite PUMA Basket (R2 499) gets three different renditions – the PUMA x CAREAUX Basket Graphic is decked out in an all-over print treatment while the PUMA x CAREAUX Basket features hints of the Japanese pattern on the heel and finished with gold foil accents. The Basket Strap (R1 999) gives a fresh perspective with velcro straps and embossed leather accents in monotone colourways. Rounding up the footwear styles in the collection is a soft rendition of the sports-inspired silhouette from PUMA’s Trinomic range, the PUMA x CAREAUX B.O.G. Sock (R2 299).
The graphics are also applied to accessories. Capturing a street spirit and alluring femininity, the PUMA x CAREAUX Bucket Bag (R899) dresses an authentic sports-heritage silhouette in a light-hearted graphic. In the same way the baseball cap (R449) is finished with Careaux’s characteristic print, blending statement design details with functionality. All products in the collection are signed off with Careaux’s signature rose in gold and PUMA branding.
Available at PUMA SELECT Bree Street, Cape Town and Braamfontein, Johannesburg from 07.04.17.
