PUMA X Ronnie Fieg Sakura Collection
14.04.2015 | PUMA
Unarguably one of the most anticipated collaboration in the world of cool sneakers…and you can consider yourself lucky if you get your feet into a pair of these, even if it is just trying them on…
Our archive runner the R698 had a sit-down with the mastermind behind the collab, Ronnie Feig, and what came to life was called the Sakura project. What happened exactly during this “sit-down” remains a mystery... but we absolutely love the result.
The Japanese Ornamental Cherry Blossom trees, Sakura, are the inspiration for the design around the R698. The Sakura Project consists of the R698 and Ronnie’s derivative take of the same silhouette – the RF698.
The distinctive deep reds of the Cherry Trees are infused across the rich perforated suede of the toe as well of the midsole of the R698, the colours continue to fade into lighter shades of pink to symbolize the assortment of colours of Sakura. .
The RF698 Mid takes design DNA from its ‘little brother’ R698, this Mid Cut comes with an inner sock booty constructed in tech neoprene and is finished with a 3M covered strap and rich colour for the full effect of the Sakura.
Exclusively available at the KITH Tokyo pop-up within the United Arrows & Sons Shibuya flagship store.
